IMPORTANT UPDATE
We have reached the maximum number of individuals that we can support with the San Mateo County Immigrant Relief Fund and we are no longer accepting pre-applications. If you have already submitted your pre-application, we will be in touch with information about when, how, and if additional funding becomes available.

Please note: there is no guarantee that we will be able to provide assistance. We’re working hard to find additional resources from foundations and donations to support immigrant families through this unprecedented pandemic.

We encourage you to visit our Rapid Response page to see if there are any alternative sources of cash assistance that you may be eligible for.

San Mateo County Immigrant Relief Fund

Immigrants are working on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis, risking their health and well-being every day to keep our society going. And yet, many immigrants were excluded from federal stimulus aid. The San Mateo County Immigrant Relief Fund – initially funded by a generous contribution from John A. and Susan Sobrato – is providing financial support to immigrant families left out of the federal government’s relief efforts. Immigrant families may be eligible to receive a $1,000 grant to help in this time of crisis.

Eligibility

  • Live in San Mateo County.

  • Not eligible to receive a second-round stimulus check (Economic Impact Payment) from the Federal government.

  • Household income less than 80% area median income ($97,440 for an individual).

  • Lost income due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

  • Have not yet received a grant from MAF through our CA College Student Support Fund, LA Young Creatives Fund, or Immigrant Families Fund.
